The Gothic Pageant this time around:
Here, I will recap the night's events for all you who couldnt be there....

Erik and Jen are presented as the reigning Mr & Ms Gothic Seattle

(All photos taken by the lovely [livejournal.com profile] intrepid_reason unless she's in em, of course... then someone else took em, such as [livejournal.com profile] m_cobweb or [livejournal.com profile] buffywillowgrrl or [livejournal.com profile] dizzy88.. I was too busy prancing around yelling "off with their heads" or something....)

Weeks before the pageant, each contestant is asked to fill out a questionaire that the judges read as we all prepare to start the show. This is the first thing they will be scored on...

Meet our hostess, [livejournal.com profile] bordelloofdolls and the very first Miss Gothic Seattle, [livejournal.com profile] hereticsaint

First up is formal wear. The contestants come out on a display their evening wear, then are asked to pull a random goth-centric (hehehehehe) question from a basket that they are to answer for the judges and audience right then.

The crowd is then told that they are to vote on the people's choice award and are shown where to put their ballot when they have chosen their favorite contestant.

They call to bring out the first contestant, [livejournal.com profile] generalchaos:

they call for the next contestant, [livejournal.com profile] arcitennoir:

and they call for the next contestant, [livejournal.com profile] the_forlorner

Up next is [livejournal.com profile] blacklove_

Now presenting: Mathew Goad-X

and next was [livejournal.com profile] hellgeist

Here we see the judges in serious scrutiny-- er someting :) ... [livejournal.com profile] theflittermouse & [livejournal.com profile] icarusfell

As they think on the answers, I get to dance with [livejournal.com profile] intrepid_reason to Alice Cooper's MaryAnn. As you can see-- I am thoroughly enjoying this command performance.. even tho I am having a complete two-left-feet moment.

Next, [livejournal.com profile] hereticsaint does a beautifully haunting performance.

[livejournal.com profile] shadowmite deems it storytime and she reads the history of the pageant...

the judges & hostess seem fascinated with the historical significance of this pageant...

But looks like my faithful photographer says its time for... Pretty-people-cam :)

First up is [livejournal.com profile] generalchaos

Next is [livejournal.com profile] arcitennoir

Then [livejournal.com profile] the_forlorner

Nice to see some one else dance with a fan.. SO much fun. Now only if I can keep from dropping mine or hitting some one with it. I get better and better every weekend~ Thanks for posting. I wish I could have been there~

Heck yeah!!!

if you notice in the last pic you can see in my right hand I am holding a fan made out of knives.... I was afraid to do *too* much with it because, well, I was having an *off* day performing... wasnt going to risk injury.

next time :)

wish you coulda been there too. come next year!

Knives? where did you find it? I bought a stainless steel fan for the frame so I can swap out the fabric based on occasion or mood. I have been using blue lately and I stitched a "glow in the dark" border around it with some thread I found at the fabric store.

The fan is kind of new to me and i got one of my own because I kept breaking my friends fans whilst dancing. Been thinking about taking some classes so I can learn some true form. I figure from that I can add my own spin on it. I am not doing so bad now but I could use a bit more grace. Kind of hard when you have to watch others around you.
