pretty close to that icon, but my hair in front now is about chin length instead of cheekbone length as in the icon

Personally I've never been big on bangs. I think they are too high maintenance. But some people don't like so much hair in their face. Or they feel too exposed when they pull their hair back into a ponytail or somesuch. *shrug*

Oh wait, I was thinking that you meant cut your bangs shorter, as in already had them. If you don't have them, then long bangs would be pretty.
