Did I ever show you guys this?

I made some Kanzashi - one for Jan, feb and march.
My favorite one was the Narcissus I made for March...

Those are beautiful! I love wearing and making fancy hair ornaments. Do you make the flowers yourself?

Yes I do. they are made out of sheerish ribbon.

I'm impressed! How'd you learn how to make them? Did you use a book or something, or did you just play with ribbon until you figured it out?

immortalgeisha.com has some tutorials for ume flowers (the most basic anzashi) from there, I just modified the technique for Narcissus.
I PLAN to make a hair ornament for every month... but I am 3 months behind. they dont take long, so I should catch up. I will post the series of em soon.

Im glad you like it :)

is the ribbon wired? Cause I know wired sheer can be hard to fold.

I thought these are originally are made from kimono fabric? But I guess they don't have to always be?

they're supposed to be a certain kinda silk, but I cant find it here... when I do, I'll try that fbric too :)

ribbon's not wired, its starched.
